The following is a rubric and student tracker to assess how students are doing in the current lesson. It can be used as a pop-quiz to test student's on an individual basis. It is best used to monitor what areas of the class students are struggling the most and can help to inform instruction for future lessons. It checks that students are following along with notes, that they are able to articulate the current concepts being explored, that they can perform a problem from class practice, and articulate or demonstrate the steps that they took to resolve the problem. This assessment will help to produce data on current lessons. Assessments are meant to take place on an individual basis, where students are allowed to reference notes (if they have properly taken them) and allows teachers to conference with students on their progress. This lesson includes a rubric, a scoring sheet, and a guideline for students to know how they can do good on this pop-assessment.
