This is a guided practice on linear graphs using the concepts of slope, slope formula, slope-intercept form, point-slope form, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines.
The guided task starts with graphing the line from two points and then using the line to find the slope and y-intercept and writing the equation in slope-intercept form. This equation is then used to write an equation in point-slope form and standard form. Then finding the line that is parallel and perpendicular to the original line through a given point. The task is color-coded. The equations are graphed to match the color coded equations on an included graph.
This is a good lesson that helps the students make the connections on how to write a line using different equations and how all of the equations are related.
Included is a guided task blackline master and answer key.
