This is the second of a five-part series that I teach on matrices. It is available as a bundle at a slightly reduced price.
Lesson One: adding and subtracting, what are matrices etc...
Lesson Two: Multiplying, mainly 2x2, when you can and cannot multiply
Lesson Three: zero and identity matrix and the determinant
Lesson Four: Inverse matrices intro - using the formula
Lesson Five: Inverse matrices further - simultaneous equations
This lesson looks at how and why to multiply matrices. Looking at mainly 2 x 2 matrices, but does contain a few other examples/question on non-square matrices.
The PPT contains a starter, various examples, lesson objectives, keywords, questions, answers and plenary. I have found this resource to help me structure the lesson effectively, keep the flow and successful in helping pupils progress and get a good foundation for future lessons on matrices.
