Product Description
In the following lesson, students address the slant of a graphed line.

* They learn that the slant is most commonly referred to as "slope".

* They begin the lesson by learning that the slope is the relationship between the rise and the run of a given line.

* They next learn to use the slope formula to calculate the slope between two ordered pairs on a graph.

* I have provided a number of practice problems, including answers for student convenience in checking their work.

* Students are introduced to the four types of slope, and they learn to recognize these four types readily.

* At the conclusion of the lesson, they walk through a "real life" situation and calculate the constant rise of a roller coaster track, given specific "run" distances.

* They then predict the elevation of the track at a given distance from where the track elevation initiates.
