This is a project task on linear graphs using the concepts of slope, slope formula, slope-intercept form, point-slope form, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines.
Students complete a guided task that starts with two points. They graph the line and find the slope and write the equation in slope-intercept form. They use that equation to write an equation in point-slope form and standard form. They find the line that is parallel and perpendicular to the original line through a given point. The task is color-coded. As they find the equations they graph the lines on an included graph. The final project is a poster with the equations and graph color-coded with academic vocabulary.
Included is a guided task checklist for the student with three different versions. The starting points in all three versions are different and will have different outcomes. Answer key and student samples are also included.
The included guided task worksheets is in pdf format.
