Algebra Finding the Slope of a Line from a Graph.
Task Cards really do work! They get the students engaged and keep them motivated to go through all of the problems, more so than a simple worksheet. This activity is designed for Algebra 1 or 2. Your student determine the slope of a line from a graph.
The graphs have positive, negative, zero slope, and undefined slope. Each graph was created in a 10 by 10 window.
Included in this Lesson:
☑ 24 Task Cards designed to reinforce the concepts taught in class. There are two sets of 24 cards, one with QR codes and one without.
Students do not need the internet to use the QR codes, but do need a mobile device with the scanner app installed.
☑ Student response sheets
☑ Answer keys.
There are multiple ways to use these task cards in your classroom. Students can work alone, randomly pair up, or work in small groups. When students work in pairs or small groups, give as many task cards as there are students. This way they can help each other, work together, and each student has a task. After a few minutes, depending upon the difficulty level and your experience, each group passes their cards to the next group.
You may also set up math centers or stations with these cards, or even scatter them as in a scavenger hunt.
These cards can also be used for sorting with students determining positive slope, negative slop, undefined slope, and zero slope. If you need more ideas, please email me.
