This activity is a Scavenger Hunt covering solving systems of equations by graphing, substitution and elimination It can be used by as few as one student or group and as many as 6 different groups at the same time. This activity will get your students out of their seats and excited about solving systems of equations!
Clues are posted around the school at designated locations, and the solution to each clue reveals the next location. Groups travel around the school (or classroom) solving clues and will eventually end up back in class. Problems are the same for each group and in the same order, however, each group will have a unique map. This allows groups to travel in a different order around school, while still making grading quick and easy.
The purpose of this activity is to review and apply the knowledge gained in the systems of linear equations unit, and teachers can easily modify directions depending on their particular classes. If you are looking for a FUN and ENGAGING way to review with your students, this is it!
