This is a collection of scaffolded foldable notecards to introduce important vocab words needed in algebra including Coefficient, Evaluate, Expression, Distribute, Constant, Like terms, Simplify, Equation, and Solve. This was used as a guided notes assignment and printed on standard paper front only so students can fold them. Students practice saying the words, write the definition, write examples, and non examples for comparisons. There is space given for students to explain their higher level reasoning about non examples. These can then be folded into fourths to be used as flash cards for studying.
When you open this file, each scaffolded level is in a different color.
The black font is the key version which could be used on an Elmo, overhead, or projector as students follow along.
The lowest tier in green includes fill in the blank, multiple examples, and sentence starters.
The middle tier is blue and is more of a graphic organizer with space for the student to write a bit more on his own.
Dark orange is meant for high students who just need a little help organizing but can take their own notes.
When printed these should print fairly dark and not need altering.
This activity/guided notes can be paired with the free worksheet as students practice using their notes.
The following Quiz will be uploaded shortly.
