This reading guide is less about the plot of the Alice novels and more about looking at the math, science, word play, and games behind the piece. I use it in my freshman gifted English classes. It covers both Alice novels and asks questions about puns, portmanteaus, parodies, author's purpose, figurative devices, logic and reasoning, and a host of other physics and math concepts. I used as a guide when creating it the excellent "Annotated Alice," edited by Martin Gardner, and I recommend using that book when teaching the Alice novels. Answers to all questions are included in brackets after each, and these can be removed when creating the student reading guide.
