All Aboard for the E Express! is a language arts game designed to help students discriminate between short E and long E sounds in words. The game contains a student direction sheet, 6 train engine cars, and 42 engines cars with pictures representing short E and long E words (21 of each).
Students begin by choosing a short E engine or a long E engine. The train cars are placed face-down between the players. Players draw a card and decide if it has a long E or short E sound. If it matches their engine, they 'hook' it onto their engine. If it does not match, they put the card back on the bottom of the pile. The first player to get seven cars on their train wins the game.
