This All About Abe Lincoln informational student book is a great way to teach students about non-fiction book text features. Teacher and students will work on this book together as a way to learn how to write an All About Book. The 8 lessons give teacher specific support and materials to guide all of the lessons step by step. This product includes a PDF, PowerPoint, and Smart Notebook version.

Each lesson includes a Connection (teaching children why you are learning what you are learning), Mini-Lesson, Student Engagement, and Sharing.

Lessons included in these plans:

Lesson 1: Gathering Facts

  • Students learn how to research facts. They can use books and I have included links to different websites that have great facts for kids.

Lesson 2: Abe's Life

  • Teachers and students brainstorm what they have learned about Abe's Life. They will write about what they have learned (guided), write a heading, and come up with a bold word for their glossary.
