I have used these activities in my own first grade classroom. All of the texts are leveled by lexile to be grade level appropriate for first grade, but it could also work well with advanced kindergarteners or second graders who are reading below grade level. So this can be used with multiple grade levels in a variety of ways and can be differentiated based on ability or need!
Supports the following Kindergarten and First Grade standards:
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI - Determine the main idea of a text; recount the key details and explain how they support the main idea.
CCSS ELA-Literacy.RL.1.1 - Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
CCSS ELA-Literacy.RL.K.1 - With prompting and support, ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
