If you're looking for a fun, interactive, jam packed unit to teach or supplement your author's purpose skill work, you've found a contender! :) In this unit, you will find several activities to practice author's purpose as well as ideas for uses and differentiation among them. The set focuses on the 3 main purposes spelling out PIE using 3 characters: Pete the Persuader, Ian the Informer, and Evan the Entertainer. Students use them as guides in finding the author's purpose. It also focuses on the clues that the reader can take in as they are reading to be able to identify the author's purpose.
