This 29-page science mini-book was created to help teach the Next Generation Science Standards for 2nd grade in Earth's systems: processes that shape the Earth.
It covers the following principles: what is the earth made of, what is a landform, what is a body of water, slow vs. fast changes to the Earth via natural forces, using a map to identify landforms, how water is found on the Earth, and solutions people use to help stop the wind and water.
This mini-book covers the following landforms: mountains, hills, valleys, plains, plateaus, islands, oceans, rivers, and lakes. There are pictures/labels of 12 additional landforms as well.
The booklet also contains maps, a science glossary of important terms, and 4 kinds of activities (cut-and-paste picture sorting, drawing, map labeling, and matching) for students to complete to demonstrate understanding.
The document is in a half-page format (two to a page) to save paper and make copying class sets quicker and easier. Enjoy! =)
