This All About Me mini-lesson – with a craft, cards, writing prompts, and worksheets - can be used to get to know students and help them exercise their imaginations. It is open ended and fun. The teacher can look at this work to make a quick assessment of current skills. The finished “All Bout Me “ pockets make a cute bulletin board too!
Pages 5-6: Cut out 8 cards that ask students to name their favorites – favorite color, food, drink, zoo animal, pet, TV show, book, and school subject.
Pages 7: Cut out 4 basic information cards – students give their name, address, age, and birth date.
Pages 3-4: Draw, cut, and fold (and finish with 2 staples) to make a cute All About Me “pocket” in which to store the descriptive cards.
Page 8: Draw and write about your family.
Page 9: Imagine: If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Draw and write.
Page 10: Imagine: If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it? Draw and write.
Page 11: Imagine: You can change into any animal on earth. What would you become? Write and tell what and why.
