All About Me NO PREP Books are a fun and simple writing activity for beginner writers in pre-k and kindergarten. This is one of the first Writing Workshops I do for the year! It is great practice for writing names, color words, and numbers.
All About Me books are designed with 8 cover choices in 3 different formats. Pick which format you like best. NO PREP- Just copy and staple. This makes a terrific Writing Workshop for the first week or first month of school beginning! Do a page a day, and writing is done for the week!
~Page 1: Students write age in blank.
~Page 2 : Students use color words to complete sentences.
~Page 3: Students write number for how many people are in their families.
~Page 4: Students use color words to describe their house.
~Page 5: Students phonetically sound out something they like to do with teacher assistance
Each page provides room for an illustration. This is a nice opportunity to teach about adding details in the pictures. The blue shading between writing lines, designed exclusively by Kindergarten Korner, copies beautifully as a light gray. It helps new writers with tail letters and allows the teacher room for translating the phonetic writing.

Teacher Tip: I use these books during the first full week of kindergarten. We complete one page per day, and the students take the books home on Friday.
