Ever get students who get to the play dough center and just sit there, complaining that they do not know what to make? Yup! It happens quite a lot. While giving them independence to create whatever their imagination desires is important, sometimes it is great to give them a little bit of structure too. It still allows them to use creativity and make it their own! It might actually GUIDE their creativity because now they have a starting point– hence GUIDED PLAY DOUGH INVITATION!
Decide whether you want to use the whole sheets or the smaller sheets. Print them out, laminate, and place them on the table next to your play dough tray. I like to use these and incorporate them into my themed units. It really helps to tie everything together and it keeps the kids intrigued with this center.
