All About Me Litearcy and Math

This unit has been created to assist you in meeting your common core curriculum outcomes. It integrates All About Me Literacy and Math to be used for the beginning of the school year.

The unit consists of:

➢ Five emergent readers (professionally illustrated) offered in both color and blank and white. These readers introduce key reading strategies, beginning letter sounds and common sight words that can be used for shared and guided reading.
➢ “Race Around the Alphabet Track” identifying focus initial sounds of pictures displayed and printing the corresponding letters associated with these sounds.
➢ Alphabet picture sorting initial focus sound cards.
➢ Math counting, measuring, graphing and identifying shapes activities.
➢ Craft suggestions and templates related to suggested literature suggestions.

This theme is meant to be used for a two week time period and is based on a balanced literacy philosophy.
