Students begin by brainstorming (on the provided sheet) about which four artifacts will REALLY SHOW future generations who they were as people. They should pick items that are symbolic of very important parts of their lives. They can choose items from the past, present, or even the future. For example, if a student wants to be a doctor when he/she grows up, future archaeologists may find a stethoscope.
After students brainstorm, they are ready to begin the good copy (two-sided). On the good copy, students will create “photos” of the artifacts by drawing pictures. They will write descriptions of the artifacts as well. In addition, students will write paragraphs to summarize what archaeologists might conclude about them based on the evidence that has been found.
Both color and black/white versions of the good copy are provided for your convenience.
