All About Me Pennant: It's a "Colorful Me" Writing Pennant Banner.....Your students will have fun celebrating back-to-school as they think outside the box using crayons, colors, and unique patterns.
This 'colorful me' banner has a crayon theme. There are 30 different patterns included. The patterns are on the bottoms of the pennant banners. This is great if you have fewer than 30 students. Each child can do their own pattern and you can also use that time to discuss how each student is different. PERFECT for back to school!!
Students will be taking the colors given on the pennant and relating the colors to themselves/their life/activities/family or whatever else they can come up with. This is a creative way to learn a little about your students.
The colors used are: blue, red, orange, yellow, and green. On each crayon box it says, "I am the color blue when....." or "I am the color green when...." They will finish it using details about themselves.
For example, I am the color orange when I play basketball. I play for the Hawks basketball team.
There is also a snapshot box where students can do a small illustration.
‣BONUS.... (optional) a back side to continue with "more about me". This gives students an opportunity to write more about themselves. Students can then share with the class. Plus, you get a great beginning of the year writing sample.
NOTE: You can also introduce metaphors as a form of figurative language if you want to jump right into a language arts topic :-)
It makes a perfect hallway display, bulletin board display, or you can connect them to make a fun classroom banner that hangs in your class. These would love cute hanging in your class all year long. Plus, it makes for a neat keepsake for mothers to put in their memory box.
Your students are sure to love making these all about me "colorful me" banners.
