This All About Me mini-unit was developed for a Gifted and Talented classroom, but could also be used in the regular classroom. It is designed for grades 3-5 but could be adapted for other grades as well. Every activity is common core aligned and the standards are listed on each activity intro page.

Included in this mini-unit:

Selfie Me Binder Covers - Students will create binder covers for class using either a girl or boy template (included) and will pass it around for classmates to write positive notes about them. This is used to build classroom rapport and to give the students something to look back at when they're having a rough day. (GT: Affective Development, CC: SL.3.3, SL.4.3, CCRA.SL.2)

Simile Journaling - Students will complete similes to describe themselves and create a self portrait. (GT: Affective Development, CC: W.3.2, L.3.5, W.4.2, L.4.5, W.5.2, L.5.5)

Razzle Dazzle Words - Students will use the given vocabulary terms (GT and all about me unit related) and definitions to create a visual dictionary sheet (included) that includes the word, definition, picture, a sentence, and part of speech. (GT: Vocabulary, Creativity, Common Core Standards: L.3.1, L.3.6, L.4.1, L.4.6, L.5.1, L.5.6)

My Multiple Intelligences - Students will travel around the room and "try out" different multiple intelligence activities and answer questions to self-assess and decide what their learning style is. This activity is SUPER FUN and students will love it. (GT: Affective Development, CC: SL.3.3, SL.4.3, CCRA.SL.2)

Tri-Hexa-Flexagon About Me - Students will create tri-hexa-flexagons using the given template and will answer questions about themselves, their families, and things they love about school on their foldable. Detailed instructions are included (GT: Affective Development, Differentiation, CC: MP1, MP2, W.3.2, W.4.2, W.5.2)

Researching Myself - Students will choose from a choice board to research their family background and create projects to share with the class to tell about themselves. Rubrics are included. (GT: Affective Development, Research, Presentation Skills, CC: W.3.2, W.4.2, W.5.2)
