FREE FOR A SHORT TIME! This All About Me Writing Book allows students who struggle with generating letters to write complete sentences while practicing letter and number strokes. Following are some ways to differentiate this material.
• Print all 10 pages and staple them on the left side. Work through the book, page by page until the book is complete. Or print all pages, but work on one page at a time, and then put the completed pages together and staple them in a book. On the last page, the student may press a painted hand on the page or simply trace around his/her hand.
• Some students may be able to trace all the letters and write in personal information on their own. For some students, you may need to write personal information and let the students trace these letters. When I do this, I use a yellow highlighter and the student traces over the letters with a pencil. Some may be able to copy text written by the teacher. Others will be able to independently write in their own personal information.
• Use the progress report to track writing progress of your students through the year. This book can be used as a writing assessment, given at the beginning, middle and end of year.
