This activity introduces children to creating a family tree and how to do basic family history research. It is intended for families to work through together, though children can fill in certain portions of it in the classroom on their own, and take home the rest. The family tree begins with the child and is a direct three-generation tree. Each person on the tree: child, parents, and grandparents, all have their own individual page in the packet to fill in basic biographical information, and fun details such as favorite movie and favorite animal, plus space for children to draw or paste a picture of each person. Children will learn more about their family while also learning the basics of interviewing family members for family history research.
