As I prepare my Kinders for Writer's Workshop, I like to spend some time helping them to understand what letters are - their names, their sounds, how they are formed, and how they work together to make words. I have put together this pack with a sheet for every letter of the alphabet. There is a labeled picture, a space for the student to draw and label his/her own picture, as well as space to practice printing both the upper and lower case form of the letter.
I present these practice opportunities in the same order I present the phonics lessons in order to reinforce the connection between name, sound, and form. These printables may then be compiled in a "letter book" for students to take home and practice with a parent.
