All Kinds of Plane Shapes is a great way to introduce or reinforce geometric planes shapes. The entire activity is available as a PREVIEW.
My Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students love using these cards to sort, match, and explore sides and corners or vertices. Simply reproduce each page on 3 or 4 different colors of heavy paper such as construction paper or card stock. Laminate, if desired, and cut apart. Students use the cards to sort by size, color, and/or shape.
The cards may also be used for a Memory Match Game. Use one color of cards with both large and small shapes. Lay them all face down on a flat surface or put in a pocket chart. Children take turns flipping over 2 cards to see if the shapes match. If no match, cards are placed face down again and another student tries to match 2 cards from memory.
Cards with the names of each shape are also included for optional use in the Match Game.
