Get organized for Back to School!
Help students keep track of all their passwords! This resource is something teachers can print off for students to have one central location for passwords. Cards are the size of a driver’s license or credit card so it fits nicely into a wallet and are intended to be made back to back. Printing on brightly colored heavy paper and laminating them also helps. The document includes 4 cards per page and is in Word form so the teacher can pre-enter some information for students. For example, for my students, under “resource” I pre-entered the following: log in to school computer, grade access, online book, Study Island, etc. Standardized logins may be pre-entered for students as well. (For example: “username is ID number, password is last name.”) Students really appreciate this “gift” of not forgetting passwords.
This is also a good opportunity to teach students about username and password security. I often tell students that when they record a username and password, they should never write down the entire code. For example, if their username is “Cat2”, they may write down “C2” with the intent it would be enough to jog the memory.
