This is a Fix the Mistakes exercise.
It consists of an eight page summary of the play (plus the eight page solution). There are deliberate mistakes in the summary (Act 1 - 40 mistakes, Act 2 - 40 mistakes and Act 3 - 32 mistakes). Students are asked to find the mistakes, underline the incorrect text and fix the mistakes by writing the correct information. The number at the end of each paragraph indicates how many mistakes are to be found in that section of text.
This is an active learning tool. Students seem to get a great kick out of locating the mistakes and fixing them. I generally use this as a pair or group exercise, introducing an element of team competition. If time is short, teams can be allocated specific paragraphs to fix. They then share their answers with other teams. One of the nicest thing about using this type of activity is the generation of a collaborative learning environment. It's actually great fun watching them work through it. The also seem to like it because it's different.
It's a Word document, so easy to edit if necessary. Instead of using at the end of the play, you could use it Act by Act. The solution is included. The extract that I'm uploading is from the solution.
