In this exercise, students are confronted with quotes from the play. Their mission is to name the character speaking, and explain in their own words what he/she means.
I find this quite challenging activity works well to focus students' attention on the detail of what is said. It is a useful way of re-inforcing the plot, and what characters say/think. They have to work hard at this exercise.
It's a Word document. There are 13 pages for students to complete - Act 1 (16 quotes), Act 2 (17 quotes) and Act 3 (15 quotes). The solution is 6 pages long.
