All-Out Mall is a math game in which players are trying to create the largest mall. Players take turn rolling dice. The results of the dice determine the dimensions of a rectangle (building) they get to build that turn. Having to build off of their previous buildings, students strategically expand their mall each turn. The player who creates the largest mall is declared the winner!
In All-Out Mall, students master the concept of using rectangular arrays to model multiplication. Students also connect the concept of area to multiplication.
NOTE: Dice (obviously not included in this download) are needed to play the game. I would strongly invest in this resource for your classroom. Dice allow for great differentiation as you might give your struggling learners two, four-sided dice, as give your advanced learners two, ten-sided dice. You can buy a set of a variety of 100 dice for about twenty bucks.
