PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

I use this activity after students read chapter 4 of All Quiet on the Western front. It guides them through a close reading of a passage from chapter 4, looking for specific words choices the author selected to create a specific tone. Students work in groups to examine the word choice and how it developed imagery and tone. They are then challenged to find another passage and examine it for tone. I have students complete the activity by presenting their passage to the class.
