All Quiet on the Western Front Vocabulary QR Codes Activity
→ Editable Files!
Get your students out of their seats with this Vocabulary QR Codes lesson designed to allow students practice determining a word’s meaning from its context. Students will begin the lesson on their own as they attempt to “guess” definitions of words used in sentences from All Quiet on the Western Front.
Next, they will travel with a partner to scan QR codes in a scavenger hunt to check their guesses against actual definitions. They will also add synonyms to their vocabulary during this stage of the lesson. Finally, they will participate in a review game to test their retention of the featured vocabulary words and their true definitions.
Be sure that your students have at least one smart phone or tablet with a QR code reader per group of 2-3 students. This lesson can be completed before, during, or after a reading of All Quiet on the Western Front
