Students will team up to write a response to literature paragraph about Ray Bradbury's heartbreaking classic "All Summer in a Day.". The groups choose from several questions, then craft a paragraph around their opinions. Students support their ideas using direct quotations from the text.
This is a great way to have students practice their academic writing in a way that feels less high stakes. It fosters a collaborative attitude, and helps students produce high quality work.
It is targeted towards 7th graders, but can be adapted for 8th and 9th graders.
