The “All Summer in a Day” Plot Development Activity allows students to explore plot development in literature by using visual and hands on activities, along with in-depth questioning. The activities included are differentiated for independent readers as well as struggling readers to not only comprehend plot development but also analyze plot development in literature.
Plot development is more than sequencing events in a story, but understanding the varying conflicts and stages in a story. The questions included allow in-depth thought through a multi-step process in order for students to build their knowledge and form an evaluative analysis.
Included is an over-sized plot chart, 15 events from the story, plot events answer key and higher-order thinking questions that allow students to explore the depth of plot development.
