Ecstatic Ellen is your tour guide in this unit. It is her goal to help students to learn how to solve, to graph, and to describe linear equations, linear inequalities, absolute value equations and inequalities all the same time. The exciting part is there’s no need to learn them independently, they can learn them collectively to show students the relationship among all of them.
To take your students on a journey of equations and inequalities, Ecstatic Ellen helps students make the connection and differences between equations and inequalities. In addition, Ecstatic Ellen has taken the equations from Activity One and turned them into inequalities in Activity Two. Furthermore, she uses this same technique throughout the unit! There is one major difference: the number line!
