Teachers this packet includes all you will need to give a child in your classroom a special week as the “student of the week”. I send home the packet of information to have their parents help them fill out and illustrate the week before. I also encourage them to send in a few pictures of the child.
After they complete the packet and return it on Monday we hang it somewhere special in our room. I give them the time to go through their papers and pictures with the class allowing for a few questions afterward.
On Friday, we do the “All about you” page. I give each student the page to illustrate and finish the sentence with something they like about the student. At the beginning of the year I help them by writing in the sentence and by midyear I try to have them write it independently. I collect these and create a book for the student of the week. The front cover is one they created. It has a line from one of Jamie Lee Curtis’ books on the front. They are to illustrate a picture of themselves.
I hope you find this packet to be beneficial to your classroom. Thanks for downloading and don’t forget to leave feedback.
