This is a great template to use to help your younger students begin researching their family and culture. Students can take this paper home and talk with the family members about their culture. We as educators want parents and children to equally be involved in the learning process. This activity can be extended to family members creating a culture board. They can draw or put photos of their family during holidays on oak tag. They can include pictures or photos of food, clothes and homes. They can be as creative as they’d like. You can also have an international lunch in, asking parents to create family recipes and share them with your class.
