This set contains 66 stimulus cards to elicit production of the R sound in all positions at the word, phrase, sentence, and structured conversation levels. Each stimulus card contains a picture, written word, two phrases (the second phrase is slightly more complex), and two sentences – a simple sentence and a challenging sentence. Also included are language targets that relate to each word, to be used for carryover and/or language stimulation. Language skills addressed include:
- figurative language
- WH questions
- sequencing directions
- grammar correcting
- homophones, homographs
- oral definitions
Print stimulus materials on card stock and laminate for durability. Cut apart. Use these cards for articulation and language stimulation. They are ideal for mixed groups! For readers, choose your target and have them read the stimulus items and/or answer the questions. For example, a student working on R at the simple sentence level would be instructed to read items labeled 3.a. For nonreaders, ask them to label the picture and/or have them repeat stimulus items.
Target sounds are highlighted in red. Targets are numbered as follows:
1. stimulus word
4. carryover and/or language stimulation
