For this game you will need a colored set of Jenga. You can paint a set you have on hand or I purchased this version from Amazon. I then printed and cut out the attached cards on the color of card stock at top of the page and cut into strips.
I hole punched each each strip and attached to a ring, folding them in so they can’t be seen. Call students randomly to the tower. Students will roll the dice to see what color block they will try to remove. After the color is chosen, read an alliteration strip of that color. Keep it unfolded so you know you have already used it. Students will identify if the phrase has alliteration or not. If they correctly identify the strip they can try to remove the block from the tower without knocking the tower over. (Mandatory Student Engagement Tip: Have the student face away rom the other students and have the students waiting their turn use white boards and dry erase markers to write smiley faces if it has alliteration or sad faces if it does not have alliteration.
