Zipped folder contains 4 items:
1 teacher powerpoint (for teacher to project and students to take guided notes from)
1 student powerpoint (print as "handouts" on print page from Powerpoint) for students to take notes and refer to allusion examples as teacher guides students through teacher version
1 handout (chart to track allusions made larger on a Word document for student use)
1 rubric for students to practice writing using allusions
Offers examples of allusions in literature, music, art, movies, and television. Also explains and gives examples for the three most common types of allusions. Fun powerpoint!
Slides consist of definition, explanation, and loads of examples of allusions with pictures. There are website addresses for you to open a new window in youtube to show several examples of allusions. As is the nature of the web, these sometimes change, so if the site doesn't have the clip anymore, you can often easily find another version by typing in title of movie/TV show and narrowing it down by part. Teacher version has answers and enough info that you should be able to locate the references fairly easily.
**Although this powerpoint can stand alone as part of an individual lesson, I use a simpler version of this in part of my "Catcher in the Rye Complete, Organized 20 day unit" I offer on Tpt for a very reasonable price...check it out!
