Even though I had already purchased many great materials for teaching Greek Mythology, I really wanted more application and focus on the allusions for Greek Mythology. So, like I usually end up doing, I made my own.
There is a Keynote (with PPT version) that I created to introduce Greek Mythology.
I then selected 6 myths that have common allusions. Each myth I researched, using multiple resources, and then wrote a version that is on a 4th grade reading level. Each myth ends with information about how the allusion from the myth is used in our culture today. And for the application portion, there is a question sheet for each myth that is designed around 4th grade common core learning objectives. Students will have to answer questions about theme, character traits, infer, summarize, connect events through cause/effect, similes and metaphors, context clues, POV and more.
