This freebie contains Alphabet Beginning Sound Flashcards.
What makes them better than regular flashcards? These flashcards are self-checking and the answer is cleverly hidden behind the flap at the end of the card that folds over to cover the answer. That means these are great for independent practice/pairs or small groups. Students say each picture, say what letter they think is correct and check the correct letter and they can do it all independently. All 26 letters are included and each letter has 3 pictures on it (except X which has 2) to help students practice identifying the beginning sounds.
They are easy to get ready. Simply print, laminate and cut. I do recommend folding each page along the dotted line before laminating. This makes the cards easier to fold straight after laminating. The flashcards are black and white to save ink.
Feedback is appreciated and let me know how you use them in your classroom!
