This is a super simple and fun activity that has your students practice recognizing the beginning sounds in common everyday items. The Scavenger Hunts are easy for you to set up and easy for your students to understand. Simply print out a set of the cards (or use the unnumbered cards to make your own), and paste them around the room. Students use a recording and write down the beginning sound on the numbered line that matches the number on the card.
This set includes scavenger hunts for all 26 letters in two versions. The first version has the letters broken into pairs based on Beverly Tyner's letter introduction order. Each of the pairs is one set and they have 12 cards that are numbered 1-12. The second version is unnumbered and each letter has a page with it's cards on it. With this version you can pick whatever order you want to study the letters. Simply print the pages you need, number the cards in the order you want and paste around the room. This activity is similar to the Write the Room activities.
