This emergent reader set on being kind AND the alphabet is a great way to introduce kids to character education and social emotional curriculum while they practice their alphabet recognition and letter recognition.

Students can read about all the different ways we can be kind to others, from letter A to letter Z with these emergent reader student books that come in color and black and white as a beginning activity.

These emergent readers use simple language and sight words to describe an essential concept: how to be kind by including and welcoming others. This is perfect for Pre-K students, preschool students, TK students, Kindergarten students and first grade students.

You can introduce a page a day as part of your Letter of the Day activities, alphabet recognition, alphabet review, learning the alphabet OR use it to focus on Character Education and SEL with the alphabet letters as a bonus.

You will also love our Kindness Emergent Reader Set Growing Bundle.

Then you can continue the conversation with the teacher discussion starters during morning meeting or as further writing prompts or as your question of the day.

Students can then connect this social-emotional learning activity with creative writing by writing one or both of the included writing prompts.

This Kindness Emergent Reader Alphabet Book Set comes with:

  • student copy of the emergent reader in color and black and white (A-Z pages)
  • discussion starters to continue the conversation and discuss some of the harder concepts and words (like "zealously")
  • 2 creative writing prompts to connect to the topic of being a kind person during writing time.
