Teaching letter recognition and sounds? This personal alphabet book kit is ideal for early readers and writers, as they learn to identify alphabet letters and link letters and sounds. The complete Alphabet Book Kit was created to allow flexibility in letter learning.

The Alphabet Letter Chart is a one page, editable chart version (I use it as a step two) following the Alphabet book under normal circumstances). The Alphabet Letter Chart is works well for distance / hybrid learning. It was created with the intention of being a summary of the contents of the alphabet book, so multiple copies were easily accessible for quick reference (writing center, reading folder, journal, tucked in desk etc.)

This resource (Personal Alphabet Book with images) was inspired by the Reading Recovery recommendation of beginning with what is known and gradually add to the personal alphabet book with links that are meaningful for children.

✔based on the Reading Recovery practice of gradually building up a Personalized Alphabet Book unique to each child

✔leaves space for the child to select an image for each letter sound that is meaningful to him/her

✔complete, interactive kit includes over 200 line art images representing consonants and short vowels

✔large upper and lower case letter to color in on the right side of the page

✔the dotted arrow font is provided to model proper letter formation

✔just enough letter formation practice space

✔visual directional support in place (arrow from left corner of page points to stop sign on right - I have my students color them green and red)

✔ideal reference book to follow a student from kindergarten into primary grades

✔tip sheets for teachers, EAs and/or volunteers are also included.
