This is such a fun and simple way for children to practice uppercase letter identification! You will need to save tons of water bottle lids!! I recommend that you ask the parents in your class to save them...you will get more than what you need!!! I laminated the first page of circles that contained all the letters on them on white card stock (but you can use any color if you want to jazz it up!). I like to make about 4 mats to use as matching boards because I usually don't have more than 4 kids at a center! Then you will need to laminate 4 additional mats...but these will be to cut out with a circle cutter to glue to the bottle lids! I used a simple hand held circle cutter that I purchased from Walmart (the 1" one is perfect for the size of most water bottle lids)! Once the letters are glued to the water bottle lids, you are ready to go! It is such an easy way for kids to work at their own pace! I included some more challenging ones with some letters missing for those kiddos that need it!! If you did this as a teacher directed center, you could always pull in a little phonics by having them try to cover the letter that makes the sound that you provide!!
