These colorful alphabet cards are great for decorating the classroom, teaching letter recognition, or even creating your own matching game (just print up and laminate two copies of the cards). To reach my autistic children I paste a set of cards to a poster board which I then get laminated. I print a second copy of cards which I laminate as well. I then attach Velcro to both the individual cards and the poster board. At circle time I will review the letters and then give each child a card that they have to, when called, match to the appropriate letter. For higher functioning kids I will place letter cards on the floor and ask them to find a specific letter and match it to it's pair on the poster board. It's all about Reaching Students with Disabilities.
