The Alphabet flowers have been designed as a fun and flexible classroom resource to promote literacy learning in the early primary years. When printed and laminated, the Alphabet Flowers can be used for ordering the alphabet, practicing CVC words and the Oxford 100 Wordlist, as well as function as an engaging spelling activity for both independent/small group literacy rotations. Both uppercase and lowercase letters are included in this resource in NSW Foundation Type.
Concrete manipulatives, such as butterfly figurines, are encouraged to be used in conjunction with this resource, with students kinaesthetically placing the butterfly upon each letter as it is decoded. However, a printable one has been included for your convenience.
For activities surrounding vowel/consonant recognition, a second set of the Alphabet Flowers are additionally available in this resource, with vowels upon pink flowers and consonants upon orange flowers.
