Alphabet Spin and Match games
This product is designed to help those kids that are having trouble identifying upper and lower case letters. I call this Alphabet Spin and there are 6 different sets, as not to overwhelm the kids. You can start with any set. The spinners are large and there are two spinners on each page that would be laminated back to back. Within an envelope that you supply, you would store the matching letter cards that you would print on colored cardstock. I did each set on a different color so I could easily identify what sets they belonged to. In addition, I also marked each letter card with which set it belongs to. Kids then spin the spinner. You need to provide a pencil and paper clip for the spinner. Whatever letter the spinner lands on, the child needs to find the matching upper or lowercase letter. Great for visual discrimination which is vital for all readers.
Also, included are data sheets. If your district is anything like mine, data trumps all. This is a perfect way to document progress for your kids. This could be used as a letter id assessment or you can use it to track progress. A sheet is provided for each set and I would copy it so the sets are back to back. This is great to show administration that you are on top of it! Also, this is great data to share with parents. The best part is that kids won’t know you are assessing them!
Another way to use this would be to have a para educator, parent volunteer or an older student who could work one on one with kids needing this support.
Lastly, this could be printed for parents to use at home for practice with their child.
One more added resource is the labels for envelopes you would provide. The labels are in color and black and white for your convenience.
This is also part of a huge product called Mentoring Program for Kids
