In my classroom, we study one letter each week. I let the children paint with mini brushes or q-tips. They get practice with letter recognition in the large center letter, letter sounds/first sound with the picture that is displayed, and letter formation with the section to fill in the letters.
This pack contains one full page on each letter. Each has an image of the big capital letter. Connected to the letter is an image of something that starts with that letter. The page is laid out horizontally (long ways, not up and down). To the right are several of each capital and lower case practice letters in a coloring page/outline format.
I have been careful to make the letters in the handwriting version, not typewriter style. (q, g, a, t...all the letters that we have to remind the kids about when we read).
This could be used as a center, or as I do during free centers/play time to reinforce classroom objectives/concepts while still allowing some respite/down time!
I also have a vertical (up and down) version posted on here. I use it on a clipboard that I tie to the chain length fence outside my classroom so there is little to no mess.
