** Teaching the Alphabet with PowerPoint **
This presentation will help your students master the letters Y and y! I have used these presentations for the past several years and my kiddos always love them... plus they learn their letters and sounds quickly!!
If you are interested in the COMPLETE SET
of these PowerPoints for your classroom, please check out my bundles. Due to file size limits on TpT, I had to divide the presentations into two smaller bundles :)
**Click here for Part ONE of the BUNDLE: Letters A-M**
**Click here for Part TWO of the BUNDLE: Letters N-Z**
At the beginning of the presentation, students will identify both the uppercase Y and the lowercase y. They will respond with a thumbs up, while saying "w" or a thumbs down, while saying "No Way!!" Then, a thumbs up or thumbs down will appear on the screen allowing them to check their answer.
Next, students will learn about the correct formation of the letters Yy. During these slides, you may choose to have students write on paper or whiteboards; you could also have the practice the correct formation in the air or "on the back of the student sitting in front of them."
Finally, students will practice listening for the sound /y/. They will listen for the sound at the beginning of words They will again respond with a thumbs up or thumbs down.
In addition, each section begins with an "I Can" statement to state the purpose of the activity.
These PowerPoints are a great way to actively engage your whole class in important practice with letters and sounds. These are always favorite activities in my classroom, and I hope your students feel the same!! If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks for looking and happy teaching
